Travel Marketplace Web App with Next.js, TypeScript & Auth0
9thCO developed a fully custom Next.js application for a luxury travel multi-participant marketplace.
The Challenge
RollDeep is a US-based startup that was looking for a full service shop to design and implement a marketplace web application for promoting local goods and services offerings centered around short term rental guests.
At a high-level, 9thCO helped Rolldeep to develop the functional needs as well as merchant data schema.
The Solution
9thCO worked closely with the client to develop personas of expected audiences and mapped out their user journey. 9thCO then built out detailed wireframes for all product screens, followed by the creative visual layer that incorporates Rolldeep’s existing brand colors. The creative visual layer incorporates the principle of reusable and composable components to speed up development and ensure a consistent visual look and feel for throughout the entire app.
Once the app was storyboarded, 9thCO developed a custom Next.js application from the ground up. Our expert Development Team took into consideration all the project requirements including Rolldeep’s future needs and recommended a microservices architecture that allows for continuous scaling and growth of the marketplace features and functionalities. For the marketplace application, some of the notable technologies that were put in place include:
Custom and secure API development following industry API best practices
SSO account creation and passwordless authentication using Okta Auth0
Typescript and standards-enforced codebase through automations
Stale While Revalidate data fetching patterns to ensure fast and SEO friendly on Server-side Rendered pages
Integrate data from Database as a Service (e.g. PlanetScale using Prisma ORM)
Tailwind CSS library for fast UI development
Configured and deployed to one of industry’s leading IAAS
“Two things really stand out: 1) the code delivered is very high quality and 2) your team cares and takes pride in their work and is driven to deliver a good product.”
